Biography
Sandra Guerrero received her PhD degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina in 1993. In her current role, she is a working as Head and Professor at the Industry Department of the Natural and Exact Science School, UBA, Argentina. She also works as a Main Researcher at the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), Argentina. In 2015, she received the Certified Food Scientist credential given by the International Food Science Certification Commission, USA. Dr. Guerrero is coauthor of 1 book edited by FAO and translated to 4 languages devoted to the implementation in rural areas of hurdle strategies for tropical fruit preservation (1994). During the last 25 years, her research activity has been focused on the use of emerging technologies for food preservation and processing design under a food safety engineering perspective. She has published numerous papers in high impact peer-reviewed journals ,19 chapters in books, and 170 presentations in scientific events. During the last few years she has given lectures and seminars at distinguished international events Her latest projects had to deal with the use of the non-thermal technologies under a hurdle approach to enhance food safety as well as the study of sensory and nutritional quality.
