Dr. Niba holds a Ph.D. in Food Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an MBA from La Salle University School of Business. She began her career as Assistant Professor of Food Science at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA where she taught food science, supervised graduate students and managed a research lab. She is currently Global Director, Food Systems Business Development at Ingredion, a Fortune 500 global ingredients solutions provider for the food, personal care and industrial markets. She was previously Global Director, Nutrition Springboard, leading the company’s global Nutrition business platform and managing a cross-functional team. She has published 15+ articles and presented at several conference. She is a member of various professional organizations, including the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences, the Institute of Food Technologists & Sigma Xi Scientific Honor Society.

Claude Billeaud received his MD degree from the Medical University of Bordeaux ( France) in 1979 after a graduation in human cytogenetics (1976). He then studied pediatrics and has been the Clinical Assistant Director of Bordeaux University in the departments of Pediatrics, Neonatology and Intensive Care since 1983. He currently serves as a pediatrician in the neonatal unit at the Children’s Hospital of Bordeaux, as a scientific manager of Bordeaux-Marmande human milk bank, as a lecturer and head of research (HDR : Habilitation to direct research) in neonatal nutrition at the Medical University of Bordeaux. His particular interest in research led him to graduate in Biology and Health (1988, Bordeaux), be awarded a master in statistics applied to clinical research ( 1991, Montreal) and complete a PhD in nutrition and food science (2000, Bordeaux). Along his career he has often been invited as a guest professor specialised in nutrition and neonatology in various universities abroad ( Montreal, Corrientes in Argentina). Over the last 35 years, he has been an active member of different scientific organisations, either French, European or American, specialised in perinatal medicine (neonatology, pediatrics and nutrition). In this instance, he has served as the President of the Association for Pediatric Education in Europe (A.P.E.E) since 2008 and behalf APEE he is Member of European Academy of Paediatrics (EAP). He has also been very involved in the French human milk banking association (ADLF) for more than 10 years, sharing his academic knowledge focused in nutrition and his long clinical experience in neonatology. He is currently carrying out several researches on the composition of human milk. As an expert in nutrition and perinatal medicine, he is also the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications.

Joyce K. Anastasi, PhD, DrNP, FAAN. Dr. Anastasi is the Independence Foundation Endowed Professor at New York University Meyers and Founding Director of the Division of Special Studies in Symptom Management. She is one of the country's leading clinical scientists in the area of symptom management. Dr. Anastasi was formerly the Helen F. Pettit Endowed Professor at Columbia University and Director of the Center for AIDS Research and Integrative Therapies in Primary Care Program. Further, she is an outstanding teacher and has received recognition and acclaim through her receipt of the Columbia University Presidential Teaching Award. Dr. Anastasi served on the Advisory Board for the Institute of Medicine’s (IOM) report on The Use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine by the American Public. She is also the principal investigator of several clinical trials funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Anastasi authored and developed the Herbs, Nutraceuticals and Dietary Supplements© graduate program funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). She has published extensively in the area of symptom management using non-invasive interventions and has received numerous awards for her contributions and expertise in symptom management research.

Vasiliki Lagouri BA MSc PhD received her three degrees from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. She has research and academic experience (1992-2018) at the Chemistry Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Food Technology Department in Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, Department of Organic Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry and her current Postdoc position is in the Department of Pharmacognosy and Chemistry of Natural Products, Faculty of Pharmacy, School of Health Sciences at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has over 30 of publications in International Journals, Conference Proceedings and 2 Book chapter authorships in food chemistry, natural antioxidants, and olive oil and olives as functional foods (number of citations more than 400). She has research experience on experimental designs and applications of different methods to study the chemistry of natural sources, the isolation, identification, and quantification of biologically active polar and non-polar compounds. She offered her services as a reviewer for the Journals: International Journal of Food properties, Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Central European Journal of Chemistry, Separation Science and Technology, Natural Products Research, Nutrients, Molecules. Dr. Diriisa (Eddie) Mugampoza holds a Ph.D in Food Microbiology from the University of Nottingham. He is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Food Technology and Manager of the Business Incubation programme. Eddie has worked with various food industries and universities throughout his 20-year career as a Technologist. His research interests include food safety and quality. Probing antimicrobial and aroma properties of wild bacterial strains has been his research focus. Current research focuses on microbiology of traditional foods in Uganda. As Coordinator of graduate programmes in the Department, he initiated international collaborations which led to world-class training at the University.
